The BJP’s top leaders will continue their campaign for the Lok Sabha elections on Wednesday, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressing rallies in Uttar Pradesh and Delhi.

Modi will speak at two public meetings in the Basti and Shrawasti Lok Sabha segments in Uttar Pradesh, both of which are set to vote in the sixth phase on May 25.

Following this, he will head to the Dwarka constituency in West Delhi to address a rally.

In context: Modi’s campaign in Delhi is significant as the BJP aims to challenge the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) over the alleged Swati Maliwal assault case. The AAP and Congress are contesting the Lok Sabha elections in Delhi as allies.

The BJP is leveraging the alleged assault on Maliwal, an AAP Rajya Sabha MP, to depict the party’s top leadership, including Kejriwal, as complicit—initially through “silence” and acceptance, and then through a “direct attack” on Maliwal—holding them responsible for the “denigration” and “assault” of their own female colleagues, as reported by Jatin Anand.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah will hold three public meetings in the Kanthi, Ghatal, and Purulia Lok Sabha segments and will participate in a roadshow in the Bankura Lok Sabha seat. All four seats are set to vote in the sixth phase on May 25. BJP national president J P Nadda will also be in the state, addressing three public meetings in the Barasat, Kolkata Uttar, and Kolkata Dakshin Lok Sabha seats, which will go to the polls in the final phase on June 1.
