WhatsApp: Introducing a New Feature – Audio and Video Sharing During Video Calls
WhatsApp, one of the most widely used social media apps globally, boasts over 2 billion users. The company consistently updates the app to enhance user experience. Recently, WhatsApp introduced a feature allowing users to share their screens during video calls. Now, the company is working on another new feature currently available to some beta testers.
This upcoming feature will enable users to share both audio and video during video calls on WhatsApp. This means that users will be able to share both video and audio content while using the screen share feature in video calls, allowing all participants to see and hear it. Previously, only screen sharing was available during video calls. Currently, this update is available to Android beta testers (Android 126.96.36.199). In the coming days, the company may roll out this feature to all users. Wabetainfo, a website focused on WhatsApp development, shared this information. Note that the audio and video sharing option will work only when your video is turned on; it won’t function if disabled.
Several other features are also in development for future WhatsApp updates, including a username feature, a shortcut button for sharing status on Instagram, a multiple pin message feature, and emoji replacement, among others. The company aims to continuously improve user experience over time, ensuring that people can use the app seamlessly with up-to-date features across mobile, desktop, and web platforms.
