Bangladeshi and Sri Lankan players will be banned from IPL starting next season! Bangladesh Cricket Board is arrogant – Cricket Origin

अगले सीजन से IPL में बैन होंगे बांग्लादेशी और श्रीलंकाई खिलाड़ी! घमंड में है बांग्लादेश क्रिकेट बोर्ड - Cricket OriginThe start of IPL 2023 is just around the corner. In a few days, the popular tournament will kick off again, featuring players from different countries. Hopes are high that, as in previous years, this edition will also offer thrilling contests. The tournament this time will be played in a home and away format, with teams playing 7 matches at home and 7 at other locations.

BCCI Upset with Sri Lanka and Bangladesh
Before IPL 2023, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has expressed displeasure with the cricket boards of Sri Lanka and Bangladesh. It is believed that a ban might be imposed on players from these two countries in the upcoming IPL 2024 season.

This disagreement stems from the fact that both countries have scheduled bilateral series during IPL 2023. As a result, players from Bangladesh and Sri Lanka may have to miss part of the tournament or may not be able to dedicate their full time to the franchises. In light of this, teams may make significant decisions regarding these players in the next tournament.

It is confirmed that Shakib Al Hasan, Litton Das, and Mustafizur Rahman from Bangladesh will be part of IPL 2023. These three players will be available for their respective franchises from April 9 to May 5 and then from May 15 until the end of the tournament. On the other hand, Sri Lankan players Wanindu Hasaranga, Matheesha Pathirana, and Mahesh Theekshana will be available in IPL 2023 from April 8. However, due to their national commitments, these players may not be able to dedicate their entire time to the teams.

Regarding the future involvement of these players, an official from a franchise stated to Inside Sports, “What is done is done. We cannot complain because it is the BCCI that negotiates with other boards. However, the franchise will be cautious in selecting players from certain countries. If you see, Taskin Ahmed did not get a No-Objection Certificate (NOC), and now this. If they don’t want their players to play, they should not get them registered. Clearly, thoughts about Bangladeshi players may change in the future.”
